  • Beginner to Advanced Skaters.

Beginner Figure Skating:

  • Skaters will learn the foundational skills for skating in a group atmosphere with a focus on figure skating. Program will run during some of our canskate sessions.
  • Figure skates and hockey helmet are required for the class.
  • First time skaters please register in Pre-Canskate and inform the coach that your child is interested in Figure Skating.
  • Skater levels and ages may vary. The coaches are trained to provide individual skill progressions that match multiple levels in a communal atmosphere of those who want to learn figure skating.

Adult Group:

  • Intended for adults who currently live an active lifestyle and wish to experience skating in a fun, judgement-free environment.
  • Beginner to experienced skaters welcome. Lessons tailored to improving your current skill level.
  • The Adult Group is on the ice at the same time as the Canskate program. Families can learn to skate at the same time.

Equipment Required:

  • Hockey skates or Figure Skates
  • CSA approved hockey helmet
  • Winter gloves and jacket
  • Skate Guards

Skaters must purchase and bring their own equipment for classes. Good quality equipment makes learning to skate easier and more fun! Please visit the recommended stores with your child so they can have their foot measured and fitted into skates that will facilitate progress during classes. Please purchase skates with laces all the way up and good ankle support. (Avoid adjustable skates with plastic buckles as they make skating very challenging.)

Skate blades must be sharpened at the store prior to starting the lessons.
